Here I Go Again!

Well, it has been just over a year and I'm at it again. I finished a couple of projects but nowhere near the 22 that I started. To be expected, I guess. It has been a rough year with both my son and I having surgery. Nothing serious and we are both fine (and luckily didn't have it done at the same time!) I have reorganized my knitting area, stash and tools and feel renewed!
So here I go again but this time I am not attempting 22 things I will not finish. Maybe just 7! I am halfway through a crochet ripple afghan that I am making for my daughter who is leaving for university this year. She was reluctant until her brother (who I made one for last year) told her how much he loved having it around. She chose the colours to match her room and I am hoping I can be done in time before she leaves. Waiting for 2 skeins of the purple yarn to come in from Mary's Yarns. Here's hoping...
I have also started a beautiful cowl for myself in Handmaiden Silk and can't wait. This yarn is soooo yummy! I have been working on the Curtain Call Shrug in this beautiful beige glitter. Was almost done but after I had read all the comments on Ravelry decided to rip it out and do it in one piece, rather than the two pieces called for. The seam in the back did not look attractive. I have also been struggling with the Lacy Summer Crochet Dress - not the crocheting but the seaming. How do these sleeves fit into the bodice????
I have cast on for the Zara Chine Cabled Cocoon in this beautiful grey but I simply couldn't get the Shalom Cardigan out of my mind so of course, in another grey yarn (this one Rowan Pima Cotton) I cast this on as well. Last but not least I just acquired some Rowan Cotton Glace at $3 each. This incredible sale was the tent sale at Needle Emporium in Ancaster. I can't believe I took the trip out there (had already driven to Buffalo and London that same week) but I had been anxious to check it out. I'll be prepared for next year. There were some professional shoppers there who were smart enough to get their early and make the mad dash! I got this beautiful burnt orange colour and am swatching for the Flame Scallop Cardi.
Wish me luck. I think my underlying motives are to procrastinate getting ready to go back to school. I will force myself to go check out my room on Monday and then Wednesday, it is back for good. Really going to try and stretch summer out as much as possible. My goal is to check in to the blog next week and report on my progress. Let's hope another year doesn't pass me by!
